You were an entry in a bureaucratic ledger identifying you as a passenger on a specific shipping line. The number featured in this design, CPR 1736800, isn’t just some imagined sequence pulled from a history book to look authentic. It was my great-grandfather’s actual passenger number on Canadian Pacific Ocean Services. Like so many others, that's how my Canadian story began.
