We Will Dance Again

On October 7th, there were countless examples of Hamas's cruel and indiscriminate attack on Israeli civilians. Of the 1,139 Israelis killed that day, 364 civilians were killed and many more wounded at the Supernova open-air music festival near Kibbutz Re'im, while dozens of young people were also taken hostage. One of those hostages, Mia Schem, had the words We Will Dance Again tattooed on her arm following her release after 55 days. Those words of defiance encapsulate so much about the Israeli mindset and have come to represent both a commitment to seeing the hostages returned to their homes, as well as a stubborn refusal to accede to terror.
